Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Friday released a book- Voices and Votes: Odisha’s Electoral Renaissance of 2024 – authored by Dr. Netaji Abhinandan and Preet Bubna, at an event in Bhubaneswar.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan congratulated the authors and publishers, calling the book a timely and analytical reflection on Odisha’s evolving political dynamics.
The Union Minister emphasized that books capturing both history and contemporary developments help shape the future. Referring to a previous launch of “Election 2024 – Odisha Politics in Retrospect” by Chaudhury Amitabh Das, Pradhan welcomed the growing literary engagement with Odisha’s political narrative and expressed hope that such works would be embraced across all sections of society.
Pradhan also reflected on the ideological foundation of the BJP, stating that it is not merely an organization, but a movement built on the dedication and sacrifice of countless workers. He noted that BJP’s rise in Odisha is not accidental but the result of sustained efforts and public trust, culminating in the formation of a single-party government in the state for the first time.
Touching upon the broader vision for Odisha’s development, Pradhan highlighted recent Union Cabinet approvals under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. These include the establishment of two semiconductor manufacturing units in the state, and the construction of a six-lane controlled Greenfield Capital Region Ring Road. He described these projects as milestones that reflect the aspirations of the people and the transformative impact of the “double-engine government.”
Pradhan also said that Odia identity is not just a political slogan, but a cultural and economic aspiration rooted in civilization and aimed at securing the future.
Former MP Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Authors of the book Dr. Netaji Abhinandan and Preet Bubna, Senior Journalists Rajaram Satapathy and Navin Das were, among others, present on the occasion.
